Passion and Grace: The Art of Expression and Movement in Burlesque
In this all levels class Lelu Lenore will help you hone your skills in communicating emotion and drama on stage! Lessons and exercises involving facial expression, dance, and musicality will help you level up your burlesque storytelling. Class will start with an easy warm-up to engage the entire body, transition to across-the-floor movement, and culminate in a final combination that incorporates everything learned over the last hour and a half!

Lelu Lenore has a reputation for raising stakes and pulses. The exquisite choreography of her grand productions earned Lenore her signature appellation “Philadelphia’s Burlesque Ballerina.” She is the producer of a monthly show at Franky Bradely’s in Philadelphia called “La Maison Rose.” She just made her international debut in competing for “Queen of the Lake” in Lake Como, Italy and won “Princess of the Lake.” Lelu won first runner up in the Pennsylvania Burlesque Festival for the Crystal Corset Award 2017. She is the “Everlastingly Luscious” Lelu Lenore!
The Philadelphia Burlesque Festival is produced and organized in dedication to the art of burlesque, and for the community that empowers this craft. In addition to a weekend of performances by local favorites and international power houses, there are workshops aimed to educate and inspire burlesquers of all levels!
Learn how to control the tension and the release on stage and in any room with movement dynamics and focus in this searingly seductive movement-based workshop!
Red Rum shall impart her knowledge of things weird and how to become them in this class!
This hour long class will give you insight into the art form and its roots from a woman who has traveled the entire world performing the art of the tease during the 1960’s, including performing at Philadelphia’s own Trocadero Theatre (which is one heck of a tale!)

Along the way you will attend workshops and lectures that will give you the knowledge and confidence to bring your ideas to life. There will be intermittent showings of your
incomplete work where you will have the opportunity to receive feedback from your instructors and peers. This will be done in a positive and encouraging atmosphere! Over the 8-week period the following subjects will be explored:
The Immersive on September 22nd st will involve talks with experienced burlesque performers in addition to some of the workshops mentioned above. Bring your lunch and your questions for a fun burlesque Saturday!Your class fee includes 3 hours of studio time. A discounted rental rate is offered after your 3 hours are used.Sophie Sucré, Cherry Bomb, and Ginger Leigh have been in the burlesque world for 8, 12, and 11 years respectively. They will use their years of experience to help you begin your journey into the sparkle world!
