Keep it honest! We will know if you are not a burlesque performer. Please ONLY choose the “performer” option if you are a burlesque performer.
Sometimes, the best burlesque acts are the ones that tell a story. In this class, James and The Giant Pasty will teach you how to build a story in into a traditional burlesque act through the use of costume, song choice, story structure, and acting. By the end of the class you’ll have all the tools you need to tell a story and get naked at the same time!
Saturday, October 20th
James & The Giant Pasty is an award-winning burlesque performer, producer, and teacher based in Toronto, Canada. With the motto balls to the fourth wall, James is well known for his innovative, concept-based brand of burlesque. James has a schlong list of accomplishments, but nobody likes it when you talk about your schlong…list. So here are a few highlights!
He is the founder of BoylesqueTO, Canada’s Premiere All-Male Burlesque Troupe, around since 2008. (Winners of “Most Comedic” at The Burlesque Hall of Fame 2018, “Vulgar in the best possible way!” — Edmonton Journal, “Beautiful art and powerful commentary on the nature of sex, masculinity, and gender.” – Canadian Theatre Review)
He has appeared at BHOF (2014, 2016, 2018) and headlined the Edmonton Burlesque festival, Philadelphia Burlesque Festival, The Ohio Burlesque Festival, The Capital burlesque Expo, and the Bagel Burlesque Expo.
He won the “Most Beautiful” award at the Great Burlesque Exposition (2011) and the “Biggest Slapstick” award at the Boylesque Festival Vienna (2015).
He was featured in the television documentary I’m A Stripper: Boylesque (LOGO, OutTV 2014) and he scandalized the nation two years before that on Canada’s Got Talent.
He likes to put his best face backward.
